Full Stack Developer (Rails/Solidus)

First Choice Eldercare is looking for a full stack developer (3+ years of experience) to work remotely. You will be working on developing and improving features built in Rails, Solidus and PostgreSQL, creating production grade JavaScript and RoRcode. (Don’t apply if you didn’t work previously with any of these). 

Who we’re looking for

A motivated and productive developer who enjoys working both on front-end and back-end development and care about  about writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code. Attention to the details and aiming for minimum rework as well as zero assumptions made is a must. This role is ideal for somebody who is passionate about building great online apps and wants to use their skills to have a real impact on a product. We’re a 100% remote company, so you should be autonomous, self-driven, and remote-disciplined.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop back-end in Postgres and Docker and front-end using Rails Solidus e-commerce
  • Create pragmatic OO design and clean code, do self QA and testing before deployment
  • Refactoring existing codebase
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure product quality, requirements and timelines
  • Overall software development incl. release/version control, testing, deployment and support

Technical requirements

  • 3+ years of experience developing web applications and Ruby GEMS
  • 2+ years of experience with Spree/Solidus (!)
  • 2+ years of experience with Rails/Docker (!)
  • Familiar with payment gateways like Paypal and able to produce “pixel perfect” code
  • Database experience with PostgreSQL (queries, design, manage, backup procedures)
  • Strong understanding of software best practices, data structures, algorithms, databases and networks
  • Experience in designing and developing REST APIs
  • Experience with payment and payout gateways like PayPal or Alipay is also needed
  • Experience with GIt
  • Fluent English (upper-intermediate or advanced)

Your Role:
As a Social media specialist, you will grow both the organic through multiple social media channels – Facebook, Google Adwords, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc… Ultimately, you will increase social traffic, web traffic, and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing strategies. You will increase email acquisition, brand awareness, top of funnel leads, conversion, and develop partnerships with external companies & influencers to spread the word of  First Choice Eldercare.


  • Grow the organic social media engagement and conversion on all  First Choice Eldercare social media platforms as well as build and grow new platforms as needed 
  • Create successful social media advertising campaigns 
  • Create successful Google Adwords advertising campaigns 
  • Optimize SEO and Adwords within the  First Choice Eldercare platforms that lead to more effective organic attraction 
  • Understand the goal, audience, and message of a campaign and create copy to suit. Write advertising copy for use by publication or broadcast media to promote sale of goods and services. 
  • Monitor social media groups, trends, tools, and applications and recommend actions/next steps. 
  • Work closely with colleagues across the organization to develop and post content to social networking sites. 
  • Regularly report insights gained from social media monitoring to internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Monitor and engage in brand related online conversations. 
  • Monitor the company's social media performance usage reports and tracking search engine results. 
  • Respond to social media inquiries about online activities in a timely and courteous fashion. 
  • Provide support to other team members on online promotions 
  • Understand the goal, audience, and message of a campaign and create copy to suit. Write advertising copy for use by publication or broadcast media to promote sale of goods and services. 


  • Proven work experience as a Social media coordinator or manager 
  • Expertise in multiple social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc… 
  • Expertise in Google Adwords to include visibility, cost per click, and cost per conversion metrics and pathways 
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics 
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video) 
  • Understanding of metrics – engagement, conversion, and sales 
  • Understanding of publishing content to include books, ebooks, videos, blogs, etc… 
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels 
  • Ability to gasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Multitasking and analytical skills 
  • BS or master’s degree in Marketing, New media or relevant field

  4. You are available for a long term position and able to work with a fixed schedule.
  5. Experience with computers and technology products.
  6. Experience in a Customer Service environment or an international business setting.
  7. Flexibility as well as strong communication, multitasking and problem-solving skills.
